We opened this piano store to provide pianos for the Southern Oregon Coast (...and beyond). After years of being called to tune pianos people had purchased for their children, or themselves, and finding that the piano was quite literally beyond repair when I got there, it seemed obvious that we needed to provide decent pianos for people to buy. Something that wasn’t purchased from a back porch or garage (...water damaged, mouse chewed, or worse), something better than the hopeless piano-shaped-object someone couldn’t sell in the classified ads and ‘donated’ to a thrift store or church sale. People simply couldn’t make the trek to the Big City (Portland or Eugene) to find a new piano, or too often found that the prices for the new pianos were beyond their more modest budgets. After all, investing $7 to $10K for a decent new upright isn’t always reasonable when the student is 6 yrs.-old and just might QUIT after three lessons. So, we have found a home, next to the Oregon Coast School of Music in North Bend, and provide people a choice. Buy a clean, well regulated, delivered, and tuned piano from our store. Or… don’t! |
